As a contemporary abstract painter, my work invokes Pareidolia which is a psychological phenomenon that allows us to recognize shapes and inferred meaning out of the organic layers that develop. My art often depicts themes based on my former career in Criminology and is created through reliefs using a strong understanding of science and the formulation of acrylics that adds a powerful depth to my paintings. By generating a sense of fluidity that is both subtle and intriguing, I incorporate my love of minimalism and use palette knives to strike an elusive balance between composition and design to elicit the subconscious. The key to my work is allowing yourself to perceive imagery and analyzing what that may mean to you. My ability to manipulate and control the surface tension of acrylics allows me to create fascinating and unexpected surprises that invite a connection to my work that I find incredibly inspiring.
